Charleston, one of our country's oldest cities and right up to the time of the War of Northern Aggression and one of the wealthier, is a city for history lovers and is just an hour's ride. However, those of you of you who wish to just kick back and relax will enjoy a BYOB pontoon boat ride to Old Santee Canal State Park on Friday, site of the first canal constructed in the United States, with a stop for lunch at the Dock Restaurant via one of the world's tallest single lift boat locks.
